Vilar Chão or Vilar do Chão or Vilarchão is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Vilar do Chão belongs to the Vieira do Minho district in the Braga district . The community had an area of ​​7.9 km² and 258 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Vilar do Chão and Anjos were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Anjos e Vilar do Chão .
