Villa Clausnitzer
The Villa Clausnitzer was a villa in Stuttgart , Gerokstrasse 1. The building was demolished after the Second World War for the construction of a new administration building.
description
In 1898 the Stuttgart architects Ludwig Eisenlohr and Carl Weigle built the Villa Clausnitzer with ornamental decorations in the style of neo-Romanesque , neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance . The builder was the Stuttgart government councilor Karl Clausnitzer. The floor plan was asymmetrical . The facades were provided with cornices , pilaster strips , window and door frames made of red sandstone . The other areas were plastered white . The basement had a rustic ashlar. Also the loggia , the bay windowand the balcony showed rusticated blocks, which gave them a defensive character. This impression was reinforced by the sturdy, round tower, which looked like a castle-like defense tower . The villa survived the Second World War undamaged and was still inhabited in the 1950s.
