Villa Giese

The Villa Giese in Bremerhaven - Lehe , Klushof district, Lange Straße 72, was built in 1895 according to plans by Carl Pogge.
The building has been a listed building in Bremen since 1984 .

history

Lehe grew very rapidly from the middle of the 19th century, benefiting from the new ports in Alt-Bremerhaven ( center ).

This villa was built in the neo-renaissance style for the merchant August Eduard Giese in 1895 during the period of historicism . The two-story, white residential building with the three-story gable with bay window and balcony as well as the mansard roof has been designed with many elements.

Pogge worked on several other buildings as an architect in Lehe. a. during the renovation of the Lehe Town Hall (1877), the residential and commercial buildings at Hafenstrasse 115–121 (1877) and the Villa Hanssen , Krumme Strasse 18 (1898).
