history

The two-storey house with a veranda , loggia and bay window was built in 1901 for Jacoba Klatte in the Art Nouveau style at the turn of the century. The facade is characterized by the middle gable in the Swiss house style that was also common in Bremen at the time . The upper floor had an entrance hall with stairs, a master's room, a drawing room, a dining room and a winter garden; upstairs the bedrooms and in the basement the servants' and cellar rooms. A special feature later was the Brommy room , in which parts of the estate of Admiral Karl Rudolf Brommy , who was married to Caroline Gross, an aunt of the landlord, were kept.

The merchant Daniel Entholt later bought the house. In 1924, the coffee merchant and finca owner Franz Gross (1875–1945) , who temporarily lived in Guatemala , bought the villa for his children and grandchildren. In 1979 the Weser-Kurier described the house as "one of the most beautiful Bremen houses on Hollerallee". There are also other spacious villas in the vicinity (Hollerallee 24, 67, 73–79; Parkallee 48, 79, 101, 103, 107, 117, 133) and typical Bremen houses . Tenants lived and worked in the house after the war. a. the Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics and a gallery.
