Villa Medici La Magia
Villa La Magia [ la ˈmad͡ʒa ] in the center of Quarrata is an important Medici villa .
history
The core of the building dates back to the 14th century and was built for the Panciatichi family. The strategically located villa was purchased by Grand Duke Francesco I in 1583 . His hunting area bordered the area of the Villa Medici of Poggio a Caiano , that of the Villa Medici of Artimino , the Villa Medici L'Ambrogiana and the Villa Medici of Montevettolini . Court architect Bernardo Buontalenti converted the building. In 1585 the work was finished. In 1752 the estate went to the Ricasoli family , in 1766 to the Amati , today it is the property of the municipality.
