Villa Nueva is the capital of the Guaymallén department in the Mendoza province in western Argentina . The city belongs to the metropolitan area of the provincial capital Mendoza , from which it is about 10 km to the east, and is one of its most important and most populous suburbs. It is located in the intensely irrigated valley of the Mendoza River.
