The Villa Reverchon is an upper-class residential building in the style of neoclassicism in Trier .

history

The villa was built from 1909 to 1912 for the Trier banker Adrian Reverchon. This was preceded by the purchase of the Villa Bellevue , which apparently only represented an interim solution, and an architectural competition that the renowned architect Rudolf Tillessen won in Mannheim . Tillessen collaborated with the local architect Peter Marx to carry out his design .

The Villa Reverchon, to which the Reverchonweg laid out by Adrian Reverchon leads up, is the setting of the novel The Wedding of the Enemies by Stefan Andres . However, only the location of the house can be recognized in the novel, the building itself is described differently. During the Second World War, the villa was used for military purposes, and from 1948 on it was used as the "Moselland" railway sanctuary. From 1970 to 1978 the villa served as a federal railway school. For this purpose, a building with two classrooms was built in the park. Since 1980 the villa served as a community service school . After the end of community service through the suspension of compulsory military service , the school trains participants in the federal voluntary service .

In September 2015 it was announced that the voluntary service school was to be relocated to Saarburg in spring 2016, and the building has been used as the company headquarters by its owner, a Trier real estate company, since mid-2016.

Since no major changes were made despite the repeated use, the wall-mounted interior is unusually well preserved to this day.
