Villa Victoria

description

Villa Viktoria, detail

The three-storey tenement house ( rental villa ), which is listed along with the enclosure, stands on a corner plot of land facing Blumenstrasse. It is a free-standing, palais-like apartment building with a gently sloping, undeveloped hipped roof . The two main views are each symmetrical; there is a chamfered edge of the building on the street corner. In the five-axis view of Karlstrasse, there are polygonal, two-storey arbours on both sides of the central axis , the exit on top protected by a metal grille. On the 1st floor there is a balcony supported by pillars, also with an ornamental grille, between the balconies. In the left side view there is a single-storey veranda .

The facing brick facades are structured by corner blocks , cornices and walls made of sandstone , and the arenas are also made of sandstone. In addition, there are sparse stucco ornaments and an ornamental jamb painting. This contains the painted dates 1889 , 1890 and 1999 .

The enclosure consists of a lancet fence between renewed brick pillars.

history

Architectural drawing around 1889

In September 1889, the Dresden resident Wilhelm Güldenhaupt received the building application for the construction of a "villa", the design of which "most likely" came from the architect Carl Käfer . The building permit was issued in the same month, but it is not known when construction was completed. However, in addition to dating to the year 1889 of the start of construction, there is also a dating to the year 1890 in the jamb painting, which could belong to the completion of construction. In 1892 the building was foreclosed.

The new owner Robert Goldschmidt, also from Dresden, applied for the construction of a shed in February 1897 . In 1904 or 1905 the veranda was added in the left side view.

In 1999 an extensive renovation took place, which is dated in the jamb painting.
