Villa rustica (Tacherting)

The villa rustica in the district of Tacherting , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein , was discovered in 1809. The villa rustica of the Roman Empire is located about 1250 meters northwest of the Church of Our Lady and is a protected ground monument .

Foundations of several buildings of an extensive villa with at least ten mosaic floors were uncovered. As reading findings were u. a. Mosaic stones, coins and pottery shards found.
