Village was a British rock band formed in 1967 by Peter Bardens (keyboards, vocals) after Shotgun Express broke up . The other two members of the trio were Bruce Thomas (bass) and Bill Porter (drums).

Village played a jazz- oriented progressive rock . In 1969 they opened for Chicago for their performance at the Royal Albert Hall . They recorded a single , Man In The Moon , backed by Long Time Coming , reputedly the first UK stereo single.

In 1971 the band broke up. Bardens then played for Camel , Thomas for Quiver.
