Vincent Gray

Vincent Richard Gray (born March 24, 1922 in London , United Kingdom - † June 14, 2018 in Lower Hutt , New Zealand ) was a New Zealand chemist who founded the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition in 2006 at the age of 84 . This is a climate denial organization that claims to be "concerned about the misleading information that is being disseminated about climate change and anthropogenic (man-made) global warming ". No peer- reviewed publications by him in the field of climatology can be found in collective queries in scientific journals . His last peer-reviewed scientific publications are from 1988 and deal with his subject area, coal .

Gray signed up for the 1995 Second Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as an "Expert Reviewer" for the Coal Research Association, which he heads, and was thereby automatically involved in the peer review process for these assessment reports . In the appendices to the status reports 3 - 5 he is also listed as an "Expert Reviewer", as a "Contributor" he is not listed in any assessment report.

Gray is accused by several platforms dealing with climate denial of having made numerous scientifically untenable claims about global warming and the seriousness of the IPCC. Among other things, he accused the IPCC of systematic misrepresentations and published several non-scientifically appraised works, from which climate-skeptical web platforms are currently quoting, for example: "There is not the slightest trace of evidence in the IPCC assessment reports that human CO2- Emissions have any harmful effect on the climate " ( " There is not a scrap of evidence in any IPCC reports that human emissions of CO2 have any harmful effect on the climate " ).
