criticism
His novel By Night, from House to House takes place in the fascist Sicily in the 1920s and includes Aleister Crowley's stay in Cefalù for several years . In a criticism of the SZ on March 16, 2004, it says: “The author, born in Sicily in 1933, who became known in Germany with the novels“ Die Wunde im April ”and“ The smile of the unknown sailor ”, radically rejects the novel form and every conventional use of language ... He reinvents the disavowed, worn and abused language anew, describes things as when they were first seen, so in the many descriptions of artefacts, images and buildings that bring a sunken Sicilian world back to life.
