Vinsent Planjer

Vinsent Planjer (* 1972 ) is a Dutch jazz musician ( drums , percussion , composition ). In addition to jazz, he is also active in music theater.

Live and act

Growing up in Zwolle , he became interested in music at an early age and became a member of the local marching band Jubal at the age of eight . He performed extensively with the group in the Netherlands and also toured Germany and France.

At the age of 14 he began taking additional drum lessons. Then he studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag with Eric Ineke ; he also received lessons from Joe LaBarbera , Jeff Hamilton , Jamey Haddad , Cindy Blackman and Will Kennedy . As a member of the Conservatory Big Band , he performed with Jim McNeely and Gerald Wilson at the North Sea Jazz Festival .

For several years he has been a member of the Rembrandt Frerichs trio , with whom he recorded and released several albums, and in the world music group Levantasy . He was particularly concerned with percussion instruments from the Orient . He also worked with the Hague Ethospheric Orchestra and in musical theater pieces by Orkater . He is also the percussionist on a children's theater show by Ageeth de Haan. The CD The Complete First Season was released under its own name .
