Vincent Ilger

Vinzenz Ilger (born February 12, 1742 in Tiengen ; † after 1806, probably in Sankt Paul im Lavanttal ) was a Benedictine , theologian, philosopher and prior from 1802 to 1806 he was provost of the Provost of Klingnau .

Life

Vinzenz Ilger attended the school in Tiengen and the St. Blasien monastery school and entered the order on October 28, 1762. He was ordained a priest on June 13, 1767 . After studying theology and philosophy in St. Blasien (which was no longer permitted or made more difficult from 1791) he was appointed censor morum , moderator fratrum religiosorum and Magister novitiorum in St. Blasien . Around 1800 he was given the position of prior in the monastery of Sion . He was still alive in 1806 and after the secularization in the canton of Baden, he probably emigrated to Carinthia together with the other Benedictines.
