Vinzenz Schwärzler

Vinzenz Schwärzler (born January 21, 1898 in Hard ; † July 8, 1967 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CS , VF ÖVP ) and manufacturer. Schwärzler was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 1945 to 1949 and during this time club chairman of the ÖVP parliamentary group.

Vinzenz Schwärzler was born on January 21, 1898 as the son of the factory owner Johann Schwärzler and his wife Cäcilia in the Lake Constance community of Hard. After attending primary school in his home town, Schwärzler completed three semesters at a Bregenz grammar school. He then began an apprenticeship as a sculptor in his parents' company in 1912 , which he completed in 1915. In 1916 Schwärzler was drafted for two years of military service. After the end of the war in 1918, he returned to the family business, where he took over the management in 1929 after the death of his father. As a result of the opening of the will, he also became the owner of the Johann Schwärzler form engraving factory. On May 7, 1923, he also married Ella Bachmann, with whom he later had three children in 1924, 1927 and 1928.

In 1923, Vinzenz Schwärzler joined the Christian Social Party and was elected a member of the local council in Hard that same year . In 1933 he became the local chairman of the successor party to the Christian Social Party, the Fatherland Front. For them he was both a member of the local council and vice mayor in Hard until Austria was " annexed " to the German Reich in 1938. For the Vorarlberg version of the Heimwehr , the Vorarlberg Heimatdienst , he was also the commander of the third company.

After the end of the Second World War and the regaining of Austrian sovereignty, Vinzenz Schwärzler became a member of the newly founded ÖVP Vorarlberg and was elected as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament in the first free state election on November 25, 1945 . In the state parliament he exercised the office of club chairman of the ÖVP state parliamentary group during its 16th legislative period from 1945 to 1949. With the inauguration of the 17th Vorarlberg Landtag on November 13, 1949, Schwärzler left the Landtag. In 1955 he was awarded the Gold Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria , and in 1965 he was given the professional title of Kommerzialrat .
