Viola by Bethusy-Huc

Viola Countess von Bethusy-Huc (born September 23, 1927 in Bankau , Upper Silesia , † April 28, 2010 in Münster ) was a German political scientist.

Life

After fleeing her Silesian homeland, she first studied medicine and later economics in Hamburg , Bonn and Gießen . In 1958 she was at the University of Bonn with a thesis on the sociological structure of German parliaments doctorate . After her habilitation , she held the Chair of Political Science II at the University of Education in Münster from 1970 to 1980 and, after its dissolution, from 1980 to 1992 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University . She has published numerous books on socio-political issues.

From 1993 onwards she lived in a retirement home. In 2003 she set up the Viola Countess von Bethusy-Huc Foundation to look after old-age confused people .

In 1992 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her achievements in the scientific field . In April 2010 she was honored with the Cross of Merit 1st Class for her services in the social field.
