Viola von Scarpatetti (* 1987 in Binningen ) is a Swiss actress , musician and filmmaker .

Career

Scarpatetti, daughter of the historian Beat von Scarpatetti and the singer Liane von Scarpatetti, grew up bilingual in German and French. After moving from the south of France , the family settled in Freiburg in 1991. low. As a teenager, she rapped and published video clips of her songs. During this time she also took part in courses at a private circus school and had her first appearances. From 2004 to 2007 she studied acting at the European Film Actor School in Zurich.

During her two-year role studies with Maria Becker , Scarpatetti received her first TV engagement in the Swiss TV series Day and Night in 2008 . She achieved national fame in 2013 with the lead role in the film “20 Rules for Sylvie” alongside Carlos Leal . Other cinema and TV productions followed, alongside Mona Petri and Jane Birkin , among others . In 2014 Scarpatetti starred as Croatian Sascha in the film Heimatland .

Viola von Scarpatetti lives in Switzerland and Montréal, where she works as an actress and has been writing her own scripts since 2012. In 2015 Viola founded the band Cadavre Exquis with Canadian Simon Pelletier-Gilbert , the story of which she filmed in her first feature film Cadavre Exquis - Fly in Fly out (2019). In the same year she founded the Biviofilms production company based in Binningen.
