Mona Petri , née Fueter (born December 16, 1976 in Zurich ) is a Swiss actress .

life and career

Mona Petri, daughter of the musician and composer Daniel Fueter and the flautist Anna-Katharina Graf and granddaughter of the actress Anne-Marie Blanc , grew up - together with her sister, the singer Rea Claudia Kost (1979–2020) - in Zurich. Interrupted by a year-long stay in Russia , she graduated from high school here . At first she worked as a translator, waitress and geriatric nurse. Finally she attended the Bern University of Music and Theater until she graduated in 2001 . Subsequently, Mona Petri got an engagement at the Landestheater Tübingen , but after a year she switched to the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe . Since 2007 she has been an actress and dramaturge for the independent Swiss theater group MARIE. In addition to her theater work, Mona Petri can also be seen in film and television productions. Here she sometimes operates under the alternative artist name Mona Fueter . In 2003 she was awarded the Swiss Film Prize for Best Actress for her role in Fire and Flame and the Shooting Star Award at the Berlinale .

In addition to standard German and Swiss German, Petri also speaks English, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish. She and the actor Jannek Petri have a daughter. She is now friends with the actor Fabian Krüger . Because Mona Petri wants to be politically committed to better conditions for cultural workers, she ran in 2015 and in autumn 2019 as non-party for the Swiss National Council on the Art + Politics list .
