Violet is a German grunge and punk band from Kempen .

history

At first they played under the name "Santa Claus Testicles" and had their first appearance under this name. Since autumn 2003 the band has been called Violet. Violet made her first experiences in numerous youth clubs in the area and played in clubs in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands . The first CD, a demo called Backstage studio demo sessions consisting of 4 songs, was recorded by the band in early 2004 in the Oedter Backstage Studios within 5 hours for 125 euros. Despite some flaws, poor sound quality and mixes and a clearly audible metronome in the background of a song, the CD already received positive feedback.

The second CD, the 5-track EP called Suicide of a fish , was recorded at the end of 2004 with a lot of effort and time under the direction of Rob Orlemans in his RoDisc studio in Tiel , NL and released in March 2005. In November 2005 the 2nd edition of the CD was published. In addition, Violet was featured on the Niederrhein-Sampler Vol.2 of the KMI with a new recording of the song Caught him , produced in the Dramedia Studio in Cologne . This version of Caught him also received media attention and was played on 1 Live in October 2006 and March 2008 in addition to Internet radio stations. In August 2007 the song Pretty gross was published, which was created in the Spacelab Studio in Oedt (Grefrath) and was also presented by 1 Live in March 2008. Half a year later, as a forerunner for the upcoming CD, the song Gimme and the video produced were published, which, along with other songs, were created for the album at Succelos Audio in Aachen .

These versions were re-recorded and mixed in the tried and tested Spacelab Studio. Among other things, flea markets with donated kitsch helped finance the additional costs for the studio stays. The result was the second CD after four years, the first album, Reincarnation of a fish , which was released in August 2011.

In November 2016 the band released their second studio album antitude .
