Violet Pinckney
Violet Millicent Pinckney (born March 11, 1871 in Alderbury , County Wiltshire , United Kingdom , † January to March 1955 in New Forest , County Hampshire ) was an English tennis player.
Career
Pinckney was born in 1871 to Major William Pinckney and his wife Frances Charlotte Everett . In 1903 she won the German championships . In 1906 and 1908 she reached the round of 16 of the Wimbledon Championships . She took part in the Summer Olympics in London in 1908 , but retired there in the first game against the later gold medalist Gwendoline Eastlake-Smith . In 1907 and 1908 she was able to win the London Championships .
