Viorel Gheorghiță ( Cyrillic : Виорел Георгицэ; * February 21, 1982 ) is a Moldovan athlete , summer biathlete and cross-country runner .
Viorel Gheorghiță is the twin brother of Vitalie Gheorghiță . At the Summer Biathlon European Championships in Bansko in 2008 he finished eighth despite eight shooting errors, in the mass start race he fell back to 12th place due to 17 errors. In the relay race, he finished fifth with Irina Omelciuc , Dimitria Ciobanu and his brother. At the Moldovan Indoor Championships in 2009 he won the title in the 2000 meter obstacle course and over 3000 meters. At the White Cross Country Championship in Belgrade he was third in the 8-kilometer cross-country run behind his brother and Mirko Petrovic that same year.
