Virgilio Masciadri

Virgilio Rinaldo Masciadri (born November 23, 1963 in Aarau ; † May 8, 2014 ibid) was a Swiss classical philologist , poet , writer and editor .

Live and act

Virgilio Masciadri attended the old canton school in Aarau . He studied Classical and Middle Latin Philology at the University of Zurich , where he received his doctorate and habilitation and taught as a private lecturer .

He held teaching positions at the University of Zurich and at grammar schools in Zurich and Aarau. He received a scholarship from the Swiss National Science Foundation and worked on a project on ancient mythology in Paris .

In 1990 he received a grant from the Canton of Aarau for his poems, which he wrote as a literary critic. Two years later, the literary magazine Orte published the first texts by Masciadri (Change of Home ). Masciadri published the volume of poems Talks on Foot in 1998. A series of novels and crime novels followed.
