Virginie Arnold

Virginie Arnold (born December 24, 1979 in Biscarrosse , Aquitaine ) is a French archer. She fights in the Olympic discipline recurve .

Arnold landed a first international success when she finished fourth in the team competition at the 2006 World Cup as a member of the French national team. In the following year, the French team secured a starting place at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing with her in the squad at the World Cup in Leipzig with eighth place . In March 2008 she became French indoor champion. The flu then interrupted their preparations. It was only at the second attempt that she was able to qualify for the European championship in Vittel in the national elimination. There the French recurve team reached seventh place.

On her Olympic debut, she won the bronze medal in team competition with Bérengère Schuh and Sophie Dodémont . In the individual competition scheduled four days later, she failed in the first round against the American Khatuna Lorig and ended up in 40th place.

Arnold is a sports soldier and is part of the French Air Force . She starts for the St. Médard Archers des Jalles association and trains there with Martine Laffite.
