Visnagar is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat , about 20 km northeast of the district capital Mehsana and 75 km north of the metropolis Ahmedabad .
As a city, Visnagar has the status of a municipality ( Nagar Palika ). In the 2011 census, the population was 76,753.
