Visteon is an American automotive supplier that was spun off from Ford Motor Company in June 2000 and today focuses primarily on vehicle electronics. The company's headquarters have been located in Van Buren Township in Michigan in the United States since 2005 . Visteon is listed on the NYSE Stock Exchange . The spin-off of Visteon was similar to that of Delphi Corporation from General Motors or Denso from Toyota .

Since splitting off from Ford in 2000, Visteon has set itself the goal of expanding business with other automobile manufacturers. The company now has business relationships with many international manufacturers.

On September 13, 2005, Visteon and Ford agreed to spin off 17 of Visteon's less profitable factories and six offices into an independent company called Automotive Components Holdings LLC. This resulted in the transfer of 18,000 temporary and 5000 permanent employees to the new company.

On the flip side, Visteon had 52,000 employees and $ 11 billion in revenue. Three of the manufacturing operations are in Mexico, 17 factories and 6 offices in the United States.

In 2006, Visteon and SchmitterChassis took first place in the renowned steel innovation award for the product “Steel integral housing for steering gears”.

On 28 May 2009, Visteon announced insolvency in the form of Chapter 11 of for its US business. Due to restructuring measures, it was possible to leave Chapter 11 on October 1, 2010 with an optimized financial structure. Visteon in Germany were Visteon Deutschland GmbH and Visteon Innovation & Technology GmbH. Both company headquarters in Kerpen. Visteon Deutschland GmbH was later assigned to the Berlin facility, which was then transferred to APCB.

The new office building on Amalienbadstrasse was moved into at the end of 2018.
