Schmitter GmbH was converted into a SchmitterGroup AG in 2001. In 2002 the company Jacot SA (today SchmitterFrance SAS) was taken over. In 2003 the SchmitterAutomotiveAsia SDN location was founded. The following year, SchmitterAustria GmbH was founded in Gärberbach, Austria, and Schmitter (Ireland) Ltd. was closed. The Arnstein location and thus the fluid systems division was spun off and sold to SchmitterHydraulik GmbH in 2007.
