Vittorio Sodano

Vittorio Sodano , also Victor Sodano , is an Italian make- up artist . Sodano began working in a London special effects studio when he was 16. The first film he claims to have worked on was made in 1999: Prima del tramonto .

He works as a lecturer and runs a make-up school named after him in Rome. He names Rick Baker as one of his role models .

Together with Aldo Signoretti , Sodano was nominated twice for an Oscar in the best make-up category. First in 2007 for Apocalypto and a second time in 2010 for Il Divo . Signoretti and Sodano won the David di Donatello 2009 in the categories of best hairstyling and best make-up, respectively , for the same film . The following year, Sodano was able to repeat this success with Die Fahne der Freiheit .

In 2017, Sodano was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
