Vittus Mikaelsen
Vittus Maaru Mikaelsen (* 1951 in Isertoq ; † August 9, 2017 ) was a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ).
Vittus Mikaelsen was raised as a hunter. He made his first political experiences in 1975 with the election to the village council of Isertoq. In 1979 he was elected to the Ammassalik Municipality Council for four years for the first time , and in 1993 for the second time. In 1997 he became mayor of the municipality and remained so until the administrative reform and the associated dissolution of the municipality in 2008. He then became a councilor in the newly founded Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq , where he resigned in 2017 after two electoral terms. In 1999 he was elected to Inatsisartut for the first time until 2002 . He had a second term as parliamentarian from 2005 to 2009.
