Vivian Baker is an American makeup artist . It was in 2020 with the  Oscar and in 2009 with the Emmy honored.

life and work

Before she started working as a makeup artist, Vivian Baker studied psychology . Vivian Becker started her career as a makeup artist in the fashion industry. Then she followed her interest in prosthetic mask making in film and television.

For the television program Gray Gardens , she had to age Drew Barrymore believably and portray the changing cosmetic style over decades.

In 2020 she and the makeup artist team for Bombshell - The End of Silence received numerous awards and nominations. The challenge was to transform the faces of well-known actresses into the faces of well-known news anchors while accommodating the changes in style of the journalists.

She is married to a photographer and has two daughters.

Honors and nominations (selection)

  • Oscar : 2020 award for hair styling and make-up with Kazu Hiro and Anne Morgan in Bombshell - The End of Silence ( Bombshell ).
  • Emmy Awards 2009: She was nominated in the categories Outstanding Makeup for a Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Prostetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or Special for her work on Gray Gardens . She won the latter Emmy.
  • Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards 2020: Award for Feature Motion Picture: Best Contemporary Makeup in Bombshell - The End of Silence with Cristina Waltz and Richard Redlefsen. Furthermore, the one with Kazu Hiro and Richard Redlefsen was awarded in the Feature Motion Picture: Best Special Makeup Effects category.
