Vividred Operation ( Japanese ビ ビ ッ ド レ ッ ド ・ オ ペ レ ー シ ョ ン , Bibiddoreddo Operēshon ) is an anime series from 2013.

action

In the future, the world will have no more energy problems due to the Dr. Kenjirō Isshiki ( 一色 健 次郎 ) invented "manifestation machine" ( 示 現 エ ン ジ ン , jigen enjin ) , which ensures the global energy supply. This is located on the artificial island Blue Island ( ブ ル ー ア イ ラ ン ド , Burū Airando ) between Tokyo and Izu-Ōshima . On the latter island, Dr. Isshiki with his two granddaughters Akane ( 一色 あ か ね ; 14 years) and Momo ( 一色 も も ) .

Episode 1 When both of them come home one day, they hear an explosion from their grandfather's laboratory. Once there, they find him supposedly dead, but his consciousness wandered into an otter figure due to the accident . He tells Akane that the world is in danger from the alien Alone ( ア ロ ー ン , Arōn ) who are after the manifestation machine . He has therefore developed the Vivid System ( ビ ビ ッ ド シ ス テ ム , Bibiddo Shisutemu ) as a countermeasure, which uses the energy of the manifestation machine to put on someone a Palette Suit ( パ レ ッ ト ス ー ツ ) , which gives one superhuman strength and makes it possible to defeat the Alone. Dr. Isshiki gives Akane her corresponding Operation Key ( オ ペ レ ー シ ョ ン キ ー , Operēshon Kī ) to access her Palette Suit. The first Alone appears and attacks Blue Island, with Akane's best friend Aoi Futaba ( 二 葉 あ お い ) also being dragged in. In doing so, she overcomes her fear of heights, which developed seven years ago when her father died in an explosion and her mother was hospitalized.

Episode 2 After she saves Aoi, Dr. Isshiki also this one operations key and both put on their range of suits. Akane fights with a Naked Rang ( ネ イ キ ッ ド ・ ラ ン グ , Neikiddo Rangu ) weapon that resembles an oversized boomerang and Aoi with a Naked Impact ( ネ イ キ ッ ド ・ イ ン パ ク ト , Neikiddo Impakuto ) called a giant hammer . When both of them have almost defeated the Alone, a mysterious girl intervenes from a distance and shoots an arrow at the Alone, which causes the Alone to regenerate and become even stronger. Dr. Isshiki says that Akane and Aoi have to "dock" to each other, i.e. H. Aoi has to kiss Akane's forehead, whereby both body and mind fuse to form Vividblue ( ビ ビ ッ ド ブ ル ー , Bibiddoburū ) , i.e. H. Aois suit and weapon become stronger, whereby they can destroy the Alone.

Episode 3 Since the school that Akane, Aoi and Momo attend was destroyed by the Alone, they have to move to another. On the way to school Akane meets the Kendōka Wakaba Saegusa ( 三 枝 わ か ば ) , who Akane, who has put on her Palette Suit to shorten the route, finds suspicious and therefore attacks. Wakaba is shocked when Akane fends off her practice sword. In the new school, Wakaba challenges Akane to a revenge match because it annoys her not to be the strongest, but in the course of which Wakaba remembers how much fun her kendō used to be. They are disturbed by a new Alone, whereby Wakaba receives her Operation Key and fights with a weapon called Naked Blade ( ネ イ キ ッ ド ブ レ ー ド , Neikiddo Burēdo ) . After the mysterious girl appears again and also reinforces this Alone, Akane merges with Wakaba to Vividgreen ( ビ ビ ッ ド グ リ ー ン , Bibiddogurīn ) and defeats him.

Episode 4 During a baseball game, Akane, Aoi and Wakaba were observed by the shy Himawari Shinomiya ( 四 宮 ひ ま わ り ) , who therefore always stays at home and only follows the lesson via a permanently installed camera at her place. When Akane accidentally destroys the camera, she and her friends visit Himawari to apologize. Since Himawari is a factory fan, they do her a favor and take her on a factory tour. The factory is attacked by an Alone and Himawari gets her Operation Key, supported by Naked Collider ( ネ イ キ ッ ド コ ラ イ ダ ー , Neikiddo Koraidā ) called drones, which can form a kind of defense shield. After this Alone was also strengthened by the mysterious girl, she merged with Akane to Vividyellow ( ビ ビ ッ ド イ エ ロ ー , Bibiddoierō ) .

Episode 5 On the way to school, Akane meets her classmate Rei Kuroki ( 黒 騎 れ い ) , that mysterious girl who neither knows of the other's secret identity. Akane tries to befriend her and secretly follows Rei, who saves a little boy from falling steel parts. At home, Rei is punished by a crow for rescuing her because she is only supposed to pursue her mission. Rei obeys the crow, who has promised her to restore her ruined world, of which she is the only survivor. Rei then personally tries to destroy the manifestation machine with explosives, showing her superhuman abilities. However, that fails, she loses her key - the only thing left of her parents - and loses consciousness. She wakes up with Akane, who also gives her back the key that Akane and her friends were looking for for Rei, and is grateful to them, but does not want to become her friend for the time being.

Episode 7 Due to the constant fighting and her part-time job, delivering newspapers, Akane's school grades deteriorate. Her friends plan a study group and also invite Rei, who refuses. When she later learns that Akane is the granddaughter of Dr. Isshiki is, she agrees to join the girls' study group at Akane's to search Akane's house. She makes friends with the others. Akane receives a call that an Alone has been sighted near Tokyo, and the girls are traveling there. At first, victory seems certain. However, when the Alone is strengthened by an arrow Reis, Akane is seriously injured and ends up in the hospital.

Episode 8 The still living Alone pupates for regeneration in a cocoon on the Tokyo Skytree . Since the girls cannot fuse without Akane, they have no way of getting to the Alone, who is further strengthened by another arrow rice. However, the remaining three girls decide to fight the Alone anyway. Finally, Akane's boomerang, which Aoi takes on this mission, activates and gives Aoi the strength to defeat the Alone.

Episode 10 Because of her failure, the crow reminds Rei that she only has four arrows left to destroy the manifestation machine and save her parallel world, and that she will otherwise die. With the help of Wakaba, Dr. Isshiki, whereby the Alone are constantly strengthened, and develops a plan to pin down the cause of the arrows next time. He also mentions that he knew of the threat because seven years ago, when a prototype of the manifestation machine got out of control, he was contacted by a higher being who told him that humanity would be tested to determine whether it was worthy of the manifestation machine be. A new Alone appears, with Rei being arrested by the military as planned and the girls and Rei realizing that they were the respective opponents, and Rei assumes that the girls only befriended her in order to observe her.

Episode 11 Rei is transferred to a maximum security prison. The girls decide to free them and learn their motive. After Akane can convince Rei, the crow appears. She explains that Rei acts as a beacon for the Alone and that their continued occurrence could have been prevented if Rei had been killed, which Dr. Isshiki, however, prevented. This was another test of humanity that was passed, which the crow as an observer of the higher beings cannot accept. The crow "devours" Rei in order to use the enormous power of the remaining arrows at once.

Episode 12 The crow, which now resembles a black angel, travels to the manifestation machine to absorb its power. She wants to rise above the higher beings and thus become the most powerful being in the universe. Without the machine's power, power outages occur around the world as the girls use their last of their energies to help Akane penetrate the crow to rescue Rei from her. When this succeeds, Akane merges with Rei to Vividred ( ビ ビ ッ ド レ ッ ド , Bibiddoreddo ) and manages to defeat the crow. The higher beings contact Rei and tell her that they have undone the destruction of their world, whereupon Rei goes back to her world with the promise that they will see Akane again.
