Vladimír Tomek

Vladimír Tomek (born January 5, 1923 in Prague ; † March 9, 1984 ibid) was a Czechoslovak jazz guitarist and composer .

Live and act

Vladimír Tomek was a member of Karel Vlach's orchestra from 1945 to 1957 ; From 1960 he was a member of the Czechoslovak Radio Dance Orchestra and the Czechoslovak Radio Jazz Orchestra ( Jazzový orchestr Československého ), with which he worked until the 1970s. Around 1960, he also belonged to the formation Studio 5 to Karel Velebný , which consisted of members of the orchestra. In 1963 he performed with soloists from the orchestra ( Jazzové Studio ) at the 4th Yugoslav Jazz Festival in Bled ; In 1964 he played in Karel Krautgartner's orchestra at the Prague Jazz Festival. Tomek also worked on the recordings of Jiří Suchý (Písničky , 1958), Jitka Vrbová, János Kőrössy ( Fly to Errol , 1961) and Luděk Hulan ( Jazz in My Soul , 1965). In 1971 half an LP page was released with original compositions in quintets.
