Vlady Bystrov ( Russian Владислав Юрьевич Быстров ; born June 19, 1967 in Kazan , Soviet Union ) is a saxophonist of Russian origin.

life and work

Vlady, actually Vladislav , Bystrov completed classical and jazz studies at the St. Petersburg Music Academy , which he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1994 . During his studies he played in the St. Petersburg Concert Symphony Orchestra Russia , in the St. Petersburg Big Band and in the St. Petersburg Saxophone Quartet , with whom he has been playing modern Russian music again since 2004.

After he settled in Germany in 1994, he worked on numerous experimental projects with avant-garde use of electronics , video , dance and painting . He developed a live electronics setup for which he composed numerous works and premiered them in solo concerts "... for a musician and electronics". In the 1997 to 1999 season he was engaged as a guest musician and composer at the Braunschweig State Theater in the children's and youth theater , where he wrote the music for two productions, among other things.

In 2000, Bystrov received a teaching assignment for clarinet and saxophone from the Technical University of Braunschweig , Music Department . Since 2004 he has been Artistic Director of the International Forum for Electro-Acoustic Music and Media Art, neue nacht .
