Vlastislav Hofman
Vlastislav Hofman (born February 6, 1884 in Jičín , † March 28, 1964 in Prague ) was a Czech architect, town planner, architectural theorist, painter, graphic artist and scenographer.
Life
Hofman studied architecture in Prague from 1902 to 1907. In the following years he was a representative of the so-called Bohemian Cubism (Czech Cubism), which was represented by the artists' association Artěl until the 1930s .
Hofmann wrote articles for the newspaper Právo lidu (human rights). He also made stage designs for the Prague Divadlo na Vinohradech (Theater in the Vineyards), of which the stage design for a production of Hamlet by Karel Hilar caused a sensation.
