Vlora Beđeti (born October 22, 1991 ) is a former Slovenian judoka . In 2013 she was third in the lightweight world championship.

Athletic career

Vlora Beđeti started in the lightweight category until 2008, the weight class up to 57 kilograms. From 2008 to 2012 she competed in light middleweight (up to 63 kilograms), then she switched back to lightweight.

In 2009 she won a bronze medal at the U20 World Championships in Paris. At the 2010 European Championships in Vienna, she defeated the Israeli Alice Schlesinger in the round of 16 and the Spaniard Yahaira Aguirre in the quarter-finals . After her semi-final defeat against the Dutchwoman Elisabeth Willeboordse , she won the battle for a bronze medal against the German Claudia Ahrens . Shortly afterwards she won her first World Cup tournament in Bucharest. At the U20 World Championships in Agadir she reached the final and received the silver medal behind the Japanese Miku Tashiro . In 2012 Vlora Beđeti won her only Slovenian championship title.

After she returned to the lightweight, she won the Mediterranean Games in Mersin in June 2013 . At the 2013 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, she defeated the Mongolian Dorjsurengiin Sumjaa in the round of 16 and Camila Minakawa from Israel in the quarter-finals . In the semi-finals she lost to Marti Malloy from the United States, but defeated the Japanese Anzu Yamamoto in the battle for a bronze medal . In 2014 and 2015 she won the bronze medal at the European team championships with the Slovenian team.
