Voicst is an indie rock - band from Amsterdam . The name comes from the discoverer of the Nepalese yak , who called his first animal "Voicst".

history

After starting as a school band in 1994, the band got back together in 2001. After about a year of rehearsals in a basement room without playing in the meantime, the career began in 2002 with a concert in Winston in Amsterdam. They were then invited to act as opening act for Millionaire .

Voicst released their first EP Eat the Evidence EP on the independent label Labelman .

In 2004 they released their first album 11-11 . It was recorded in the private studio of James Iha ( Smashing Pumpkins ). It was produced by Eli Janney ( Girls Against Boys ).

The second single from the album Whatever You Want From Life can be heard in a Heineken commercial, in the American television series One Tree Hill and in the video game 2006 FIFA World Cup .

In early 2007 Voicst returned to the studio for their second album, A Tale of Two Devils . You worked with Peter Katis (producer of Interpol and The National ).

In 2011 they produced the song Glow exclusively for the introductory campaign for the BMW F20 .
