Vojtěch Bradáč (born October 6, 1913 in Žižkov near Prague , † March 30, 1947 ) was a Czechoslovak football player .

Career

Vojtěch Bradáč was born in 1913 in Žižkov , which was incorporated into Prague in 1922 . Bradáč began playing football in 1926 with Viktoria Žižkov , where the striker made his debut in the first division in the 1930/31 season. At the end of the season he was called up to the Czechoslovak national team at the age of only 17 years, eight months and seven days ; no player was younger on his debut. Czechoslovakia won against Switzerland 7-3, Bradáč scored two goals.

In April 1932, Bradáč moved to Slavia Prague for the then record sum of 80,000 Czech crowns, which today corresponds to around 700,000 crowns. With Slavia he became Czechoslovakian champion in 1933, 1934 and 1935 . In the 1935/36 season Bradáč scored 42 goals and was the top scorer . Bradáč was then obliged by the French club FC Sochaux and won the national cup competition with him. In the summer of 1937 Bradáč returned to Slavia and won the Mitropa Cup in 1937/38, in which he played a total of 18 games from 1934 to 1939 and scored eight goals.

Despite his excellent debut in 1931, Bradáč could not establish himself in the national team. He was not appointed to the 1934 World Cup , in 1938 he was subsequently nominated and was only a replacement. He had his last of a total of only nine missions on August 28, 1938 in Zagreb in a 3-1 win against Yugoslavia , where he managed the 1-0 opening goal.

In the 1939/40 season Bradáč played briefly for his former club Viktoria Žižkov and then returned to Slavia. In 1942 he was briefly under contract with Sparta Prague , again he went back to Slavia. In the 1942/43 season he finally turned his back on the red and whites and moved to the then first division club SK Nusle , who, however, had to leave the top division as bottom of the table in 1943/44. Bradáč ended his career with Slovan Duchcov .

Bradáč scored 155 goals in the 1st Czechoslovak League and the top division of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia .

Vojtěch Bradáč died on March 30, 1947 at the age of only 33.
