Volker C. Dörr

Volker C. Dörr (* 1966 ) is a German specialist in German .

Volker Christian Dörr grew up in Cologne and studied German , philosophy and art history at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn. He completed his master's degree in 1994, did his doctorate in 1997 with Norbert Oellers and received his habilitation in 2002. In 2010 he became professor for modern German literary history at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . Since the winter semester 2010/11 he has held a chair for modern German literature at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

His main research interests include Weimar Classics , post-war literature and myth, as well as contemporary German-Turkish literature.
