Volker Fintelmann

Volker Fintelmann (born February 2, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German specialist in internal medicine . He focuses on phytotherapy and anthroposophic medicine .

Life

Due to the war, Fintelmann attended various schools in Berlin, Dresden, Olmütz, Haldensleben and Northeim. From the 6th grade he was a student at the Free Waldorf School in Hanover. After graduating from high school in 1955, he studied medicine in Tübingen, Berlin, Heidelberg and Hamburg. In 1961 he received his doctorate. He has been a specialist in internal medicine since 1968. He was a senior physician and later a senior physician in various DRK hospitals in Hamburg, and from 1986 to 1997 also medical director and managing director. 1978 to 1989 was a member of Commission E . After 1985 he took over the supervision of the textbook on phytotherapy founded by Rudolf Fritz Weiss , which was published in its 12th edition in 2009.

In 1996 he was awarded the title of Professor by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

In 1997 he was the founder of the Carl Gustav Carus Academy in Hamburg and has since been on the board of the sponsoring association and on the academy council. Since 2006 he has been chairman of the drug commission of the Hufeland Society. He is also president of the German Academy for Homeopathy and Naturopathic Treatment eV based in Celle. In 1990/91 he was also chairman of the Society for Phytotherapy .

Since 1968, Volker Fintelmann has given more than 2,000 lectures and published over 150 publications.
