Volker Griese

Volker Griese (* 1965 in Wankendorf ) is a German writer who focuses on the literature and history of Schleswig-Holstein and the biographies of authors.

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Griese studied electrical engineering and worked part-time in literature, art and history. He has published numerous books and articles on historical and literary history topics. He wrote biographical works on Gustav Frenssen , Theodor Storm and Detlev von Liliencron . He is also the editor of several books by the poet Iven Kruse , a four-part edition of works by Dietrich Theden and the author of a short biography of this writer.

Griese devoted himself particularly intensively to the work of Karl May . As a member of the Karl May Society , he was in charge of its autograph archive from 1995 to 2008 and is now a member of the Society's technical committee for securing documents on the life and work of Karl May.

Griese is also a member of the Kempowski Society and published a register of people on Walter Kempowski's work.
