Volker Pook

Volker Pook (born January 14, 1969 in Herten ) is a German communication designer. Since 2008 he has been Professor of Editorial Design and Corporate Design at the Berlin Technical Art School .

Career

He studied with Peter Wippermann at the University of Essen . After that, Volker Pook initially worked at Büro Hamburg, later engagements at MetaDesign and the Peter Schmidt Studios followed . During this time he worked for clients such as Bertelsmann , Hugo Boss , Migros , Wella , Olympand cones. During this time he worked on corporate, editorial and packaging design projects. This was followed by a few years in New York at the agencies Enterprise IG (now The Band Union) and Wolff Olins. In Berlin he headed a design team for Playframe as creative director and was a member of the management board from 2006 to 2010. There he still works as a freelance CD. Since 2008 he has been a professor at the Berlin Technical Art College, where he teaches communication design.

Volker Pook is married to the Japanese Tomoko Pook and has two children. He lives in Berlin.

Projects

For Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Germany , Volker Pook and BTK students supported the Samboja Lestari and Kehje Sewen (East Borneo) projects in the 2010 summer semester. New ways and means of communication were sought, with which BOS draws attention to the project and the organization and finds supporters for the rainforest and its orangutans in Indonesia. The tasks of NGOs and their communication were the focus of the design.
