Volker Wolff

Volker Wolff (born June 11, 1951 in Bad Rothenfelde ) is a German business journalist and journalism teacher.

Life

After graduating from Beethoven-Gymnasium Bonn in 1969 , he studied business administration at the University of Cologne (business administration graduate). In 1978 he was with the dissertation marketing strategies of the insurance company to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . He was then assistant to the CEO of Colonia Insurance . In 1980 he became an editor at the Handelsblatt in Düsseldorf and, after a short break, in 1985 at Capital . He held the position of head of department there and finally moved to Wirtschaftswoche as editor-in-chief in 1991 .

From 1995 to 2014 he was a professor at the Journalism Seminar at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . In the meantime he was also dean and vice dean (social sciences, media and sports). From 1998 to 2000 he was managing director of the Institute for Journalism in Mainz. From 2001 to 2008 he published the trade journal business journalist .

Wolff was a member of the board of trustees of the Rhineland-Palatinate Foundation for Innovation and a member of the advisory board of HUK-Coburg . From 2003 to the end of 2014 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Democracy Foundation of the University of Cologne and has been a member of the board of directors of Stiftung Warentest since 2012 .
