Volkmar Boehm

Volkmar Böhm (born December 24, 1938 in Seifhennersdorf ; † November 9, 2007 in Zittau ) was a German pop singer and event organizer.

Life

Böhm took piano and singing lessons, sang in the self-founded quartet "Piccolos" and as a refrain singer in various dance orchestras. It was discovered by AMIGA in 1961 , after which twenty singles were released between 1962 and 1969. His titles, including successful duets with Ruth Brandin and his version of Shake Hands , have become popular on radio and television . In recent years some of them have been re-released on various CDs.

From 1991 to 2003 Volkmar Böhm was employed in the cultural office of the Zittau city ​​administration and organized public events, including the state horticultural show in Zittau / Olbersdorf . In 2003 he retired and took on other events and city festivals in Zittau on a voluntary basis or on a fee basis.
