Volkmar Boehm
Volkmar Böhm (born December 24, 1938 in Seifhennersdorf ; † November 9, 2007 in Zittau ) was a German pop singer and event organizer.
Life
Böhm took piano and singing lessons, sang in the self-founded quartet "Piccolos" and as a refrain singer in various dance orchestras. It was discovered by AMIGA in 1961 , after which twenty singles were released between 1962 and 1969. His titles, including successful duets with Ruth Brandin and his version of Shake Hands , have become popular on radio and television . In recent years some of them have been re-released on various CDs.
From 1991 to 2003 Volkmar Böhm was employed in the cultural office of the Zittau city administration and organized public events, including the state horticultural show in Zittau / Olbersdorf . In 2003 he retired and took on other events and city festivals in Zittau on a voluntary basis or on a fee basis.
