Volkmar Kretkowski
Volkmar Kretkowski (born June 23, 1938 in Duisburg ) is a German educator and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school, Kretkowski completed a pedagogical university degree. Then joined the school service as a teacher. He worked as a secondary school teacher from 1965 to 1974 and then worked as the head of a secondary school until 1976, most recently in the role of director of studies. He had also joined the Education and Science Union (GEW). He later became a board member of Krefeld Stadtwerke.
Political party
Kretkowski joined the SPD in 1967 and was a board member of the SPD district of Lower Rhine from 1974 to 1988 .
MP
Kretkowski was a council member of the city of Krefeld from 1975 to 1994 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1976 to 1994. From 1980 to 1983 he represented the constituency of Krefeld in parliament . In all other electoral periods he entered the Bundestag via the state list of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia .
