Volkmar Limprecht (* 1615 ; † November 20, 1663 in Erfurt ) was a German educator and local politician.

Limprecht had attended the Evangelical Ratsgymnasium in Erfurt and then studied at the University of Mainz , where he was awarded the academic degree of Magister . He then worked as a teacher in Erfurt and also worked there as a local politician. He was elected to the city council and in 1656 appointed Ober-Vierherrn of the councilor committee of the quadrilateral . In this function he represented Kurmainz's interests . After the elector and archbishop Johann Philipp von Schönborn had sent electoral Mainz troops to Erfurt at the beginning of November 1663, an uprising broke out in the city, whose ruling class feared for its independence. In this context, Limprecht was accused of abuse of power and treason. He was publicly beheaded with the sword on November 20, 1663 in Erfurt . His severed head was stuck on an outer wall of the town hall and displayed, the rest of the body was buried. After Johann Philipp had restored Electoral Mainz sovereignty over the city in 1664, the body was exhumed at the request of Limprecht's widow, and the remains were solemnly buried in the presence of Mainz dignitaries in the merchant's church.
