The Volksbank Clarholz-Lette-Beelen eG was a merger of two formerly independent cooperative banks in the places Clarholz , Gütersloh and Lette one hand and Beelen , Warendorf district on the other. Lette did not have its own cooperative bank, but at an early stage turned to the savings and loan fund Clarholz, which was founded on November 1, 1903. Since 1934 Lette hired, from 1946 (until 1951) and then from 1962 two members on the supervisory board of the savings and loan fund Clarholz (Bernhard Westarp 1934–1941, Heinrich Spliethoff 1941–1951, Heinrich Menke 1946–1978, Josef Maibaum 1962–1990 , Anton Schmitfranz 1978-2003, Heinz Besselmann 1991-2003). Heinrich Spliethoff (member of the supervisory board since 1941) was appointed to the management board in 1951 and was its chairman from 1975 to 1979.

The renaming of the savings and loan association Clarholz-Lette to Volksbank Clarholz-Lette took place in 1980.

In 2010 it achieved a balance sheet total of 202.317 million euros. 48 employees worked in three branches.

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2012, there was a merger with Volksbank Harsewinkel eG to form the new Volksbank im Ostmünsterland eG.
