The Volksbank Kraichgau eG is a German cooperative bank in Baden-Wuerttemberg . It belongs to the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks (BVR) and its security facility. Their two headquarters are in Wiesloch and Sinsheim .

history

The origin of the bank goes back to 1867 with the founding of the advance payment association Wiesloch and the Volksbank Eppingen. However, the current Volksbank Kraichgau Wiesloch-Sinsheim is the result of several mergers that have taken place since 1947.

At that time, Volksbank Bad Rappenau merged with the savings and loan fund Babstadt and in 1952 with the savings and loan fund Obergimpern. In 1971 and 1979 further banks were added with the Raiffeisen banks Siegelsbach and Fürfeld.

At the same time, in 1972 Volksbank Sinsheim merged with the Raiffeisen banks from Adersbach / Ehrstädt, Waldangelloch, Steinsfurt / Rohrbach, Dühren and Hoffenheim. In 1976 and 1980 the Raiffeisen banks Angelbachtal and Eschelbach followed.

The first major merger took place in 1997 between Volksbank Sinsheim and Volksbank Bad Rappenau. This resulted in the Volksbank Sinsheim-Bad Rappenau.

The second major merger, which led to Volksbank Kraichgau, took place in 2001 between Volksbank Sinsheim-Bad Rappenau and Volksbank Eppingen (originated from the mergers in 1972 between the Raiffeisenkassen from Mühlbach, Kleingartach, Elsenz and Adelshofen).

The third major merger took place in 2008. Here the Volksbank Wiesloch integrated the Volksbank for the Angelbachtal:

This developed primarily through the merger of Volksbank for Angelbachtal / Mühlhausen and Volksbank Rauenberg in 1987, as well as the later merger with Volksbank Rettigheim-Malschenberg in 2000.

The Volksbank Wiesloch was formed in the last few years through two mergers. In 1990 the savings and credit bank Wiesloch merged with the Volksbank Wiesloch and in 2000 the Volksbank Wiesloch merged with the Volksbank Leimen-Sandhausen.

In 2010 there was the fourth major merger of Volksbank Wiesloch with Volksbank Kraichgau to form Volksbank Kraichgau Wiesloch-Sinsheim. In 2017 the bank changed its company to Volksbank Kraichgau eG .

On July 27, 2018, the intention to merge between Volksbank Kraichgau and Raiffeisenbank Kraichgau was announced in a press release . The foundation stone had previously been laid in a letter of intent drawn up by the board members after the supervisory boards of both houses had authorized the board members to start merger talks.

Volksbank Kraichgau eG and Raiffeisenbank Kraichgau eG were entered in the cooperative register as Volksbank Kraichgau eG on July 8, 2019.

On May 29, 2020, the intention to merge between Volksbank Kraichgau and Volksbank Bruhrain-Kraich-Hardt was announced in a press release . The foundation stone had previously been laid in a letter of intent drawn up by the board members after the supervisory boards of both houses had authorized the board members to start merger talks.
