Volkwin Müller (born November 27, 1965 in Detmold ) is a German rock / folk songwriter. He plays acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard and sings.

Life

He grew up in Schieder-Schwalenberg and lives in Detmold.

Volkwin Müller has released albums in the genres of rock, folk and jazz-pop. A major inspiration for his lyrics as a songwriter was an article about Bruce Springsteen in Newsweek in 1987: Myths Keep Us Strangers . He gave concerts in Germany, Switzerland and France in halls with up to 1000 spectators, in June 2011 also in France at the Fête de la Musique .

In 2005 , Klaus Voormann designed the cover for his album “Signals” based on his Beatles cover for “Revolver”. The cover was also published as a limited special print in an edition of 50 copies signed by Klaus Voormann.

In 2007 he launched the first Blomberg Song Festival under the motto “The Beatles in Lippe”. Since then, the now two-day song festival has taken place annually in the Blomberg cultural center "Alte Meierei".

In 2012 his album "Strawberry Songs" was released with interpretations of John Lennon classics. Guests on this album are u. a. Purple Schulz, Klaus Weiland, Uli Bögershausen, George Kochbeck and the English singer / songwriter Julian Dawson. The artwork for this CD is again from Lennon's friend Klaus Voormann.

Since 2016 Germany-wide performances of “Lennon's Last Years”, concert & reading, together with the Hamburg actor and author Achim Amme .

His songs appear on his own record label Volkwino Music .

He worked on his 2016 album "With other eyes" a. a. with the British musician Julian Dawson .

His song “Solidarity” from his album “With Different Eyes (2016)” was inspired by a visit to Lech Wałęsa .

His album "Auf dem Weg", released in 2020, was nominated for the German Record Critics' Prize in the "Songwriter" category.
