Vollbüttel is a village in Lower Saxony . It belongs to the municipality of Ribbesbüttel in the district of Gifhorn . The Vollbütteler Riede flows about 1 kilometer east of the town center .

The place was first mentioned in 1284 as Volmeresbutle . At that time it had about 100 inhabitants. Large parts of the village were destroyed in fire disasters in 1814 and 1847.

A cinema museum has existed in Raiffeisenstrasse since 1997. It is sponsored by the "Association of Friends and Patrons of the Museum of Cinematography eV" worn and operated.

On March 1, 1974, the municipality of Vollbüttel was dissolved. Its main part with almost 600 inhabitants at that time was incorporated into the municipality of Ribbesbüttel. The remaining area with then about 250 inhabitants came to the district town of Gifhorn .
