European Cup Winners' Cup 1979/80 (women)
The European Women's Cup Winners' Cup 1979/80 was the 8th edition of the competition, in which 14 volleyball club teams from 14 countries took part. Without losing a set, the Hungarians from Vasas Izzó Budapest secured the European Cup Winners' Cup for the first time.

In the elimination round and in the quarter-finals, the teams played in the knockout system . There were two legs in both rounds. After the quarter-finals, the last four teams determined the European Cup winner in a final round tournament.

Through a walk-through VC Temse and ALIDEA Catania moved directly into the quarterfinals.

Final round
The final round took place from March 7th to 9th in the Dutch city of Voorburg .
