From the Red Fort to Lalukhet ( Urdu : لال قلعے سے لالوکھیت تک), d. H. from the Red Fort in the north Indian city of Delhi - the fortress and palace complex from the era of the Mughal Empire in India - to Lalukhet , the refugee camp in Karachi in Sindh , Pakistan , is a Urdu play by Khwaja Muinuddin (1924–1971).

The drama deals with the fate of the Muslim refugees , the Mohajirs , after the partition of India (on August 14, 1947 ) using the example of the tragedy of a refugee family.

"In Lal Qile se Lalukhet Tak (" From the Red Fort to Lalukhet "), by Khwajah Moinuddin, the comedy arises out of the pitiable condition of the refugees who leave their well-settled existence in Delhi dreaming of prosperity, take a tedious journey , and arrive homeless in Karachi to find shelter in thatched hovels. "

The German orientalist Annemarie Schimmel noted that many of these refugees "belonged to the intellectual elite of Indian Muslims who had taken up the idea of Pakistan most enthusiastically, but who have now been condemned to a miserable refugee existence for years".
